Salud!
With retirements, birthdays, and an anniversary all happening, Mary and I decided to combine them into one special dinner here in San Sebastion, one of the top gastronomical cities in the world.
We had dinner at Lanziego, a classic Spanish cuisine restaurant. I could bore you with the intimate details of our delightful amuse-bouche of whipped crème fraîche; the exquisite warm lobster salad; melt-in-your-mouth oxtail with foie gras; succulent cooked to perfection rib-eye; heavenly pineapple and coconut french toast with pineapple ice cream, or the bottles of chilled cava and aged tempranillo wines, but I'll leave it to your imagination. Trust me though; it was the highlight of the trip and a nice way to end our stay here.
But..., today we had to have lunch before boarding the train, so we choose one of the nicer pintxos bars in town.
Stewed veal cheeks, and a duck confit ravioli
Slow roasted pig, and a roasted pig ear
Lest you think all we did was drink wine and eat tapas/pintxos while in Spain, here's photographic proof our trip was far more than that!
Granada Gelato i0726
Barcelona Gelato i1106
Looking back on our lives, we rarely regret the risks we’ve taken; we only regret the ones we didn’t. Get out and take a risk this week. You may find it rewarding.
Thanks for being a steadfast travel companion.
Namaste
